Yeah, that's one of the reasons I didn't come home with it. It was so tame and beautiful, Im not normally a bird person, but this was different somehow

It would be an expensive lunch for the cats if they got their paws on it let alone the stress it would cause the bird itself. Sylvester and Tweety Pie come to mind....
The Feliway arrived yesterday and it got plugged in straight away, how long roughly, as I know each cat is different, should one see a difference? Here she is anyway, excuse the dust, we were just decorating the room before she arrived and obviously haven't been able to finish the room off. Last edited by fluffymel; 26-01-2008 at 09:56 AM. |

Aw bless, she looks so cute.
I think after about a day you should notice a difference. I'm not sure though. The one we have lasts about a month though, and it is plugged in all the time. When it is unplugged, you notice a difference in about 4-5 hours. MadCat

Hi there Guru, thanks so much for asking about us. Would you believe the rotten luck, the diffuser is faulty, I only found out yesterday. it worked the first few days and I noticed the calmer attitude in her. The last few weeks she has been extremely bad tempered and attacked me if my hand was near. I found this very strange but put it down to her being cross with my 5 year old as he has not been helping matters
My other cats aren't bothered with her at all and that helps such a lot, they all mix together now although she still likes the office as her recluse. She is still so incredibly wary and nervous. I can't believe this has gone on 6 weeks already...... So hopefully I will see an improvement when the new diffuser appears....I shall let you know. I agree with The Guru. Sounds like you are doing OK, these things do take time though as we have all said loads in this thread!
If she felt that bad and wary, she would have found a way to escape by now, so you must be doing something right Keep us posted, hope your new diffuser is OK MadCat

Thanks Madcat, you are both right there. I was so worried at first that if she got out, got frightened she wouldn't get back etc etc but now its got to the stage that if she wants to go, if she feels so unhappy she does know the way out. It would be an awful shame seeing as we have come this far.
Milli is the one that spends more time with her (and sleeps in her house and basket much to Simba's annoyance) and although Simba is wary she is accepting her presence. Just yesterday Simba was exploring the bathroom and Milli came to see too, Simba raised her paws at her in defence as she felt out of her environment then rolled on her back to show she didn't really mean to. Bless. So I think things are going OK. A couple of weeks ago, the husband of her previous owner came to see how things were and to see if she was settling in. I can still recall the surprise in his voice when Simba swore at him as he picked the house up when she was in it, obviously a gesture he did before, not now though. Made me feel tons better How are your two getting along Madcat? Last edited by fluffymel; 20-01-2008 at 05:21 AM. Reason: spelling error far not fat |
