Ok, well a few days ago i noticed my cat was walking with its tail straight down, almost limp. I didnt think anything of it and went to work.
I came home and realized she was doing it again, and that she was very shy and didnt seem like she wanted attention. So i went over to her and started petting her and playing with her and she seemed fine. But her tail isnt really moving at all. It seems like its broken, but shes an indoors cat and we dont pull on her tail or anything. Shes about 5-6 years old, and shes normally very playful. After a few days she began to become playful and wanting attention again, but her tail still sags down for some reason. She lets me touch her tail and move it around, so I dont think its broken. When we was born she was very small and very skinny and didnt eat very much. But as she was growing up she ate more and more and actually got bigger then her sister, but shes not massive, just larger. She seemed very healthy and happy. I dont think its a mood issue, i think something could be wrong with her back? Any ideas? Thanks, Ryan ( and Sassy ) :-P |

hi ryan, welcome to Siliconhell!
sorry to hear about Sassy (I take it thatÂ’s her name) have you tried stroking her back? does she move away when you do it? has she gone off her food at all? it may be worth taking her to the vet to have her checked out, rather to be safe than sorry that there is nothing really wrong. keep us updated on how sheÂ’s doing. we talked to our neighbor who is a vet and said it sounds like she had a possible stroke. we are gonna take her to her real vet and find out.
she has gotten worse by the way, she can barely walk on her hind legs, and even if she does it just for a few steps. she hasnt been eating much, unless we take her downstairs and sit her right next to the food bowl. the words "put her to sleep" are on everyones tongue, but ive done some research and found that some cats can snap back from a stroke. Lets see what the vet says tomorrow thanks for the support guys, sassy says thanks too =) meow! |

Oh, that's really sad.
I hope you get the good news you are looking for at the vets tomorrow. Jack and I will be thinking of you. MadCat
