I was looking online for plans to make my own scratch post and I came across this site. I ended up buying the 85cm post. It is really sturdy, not like the ones you see on the high street. Jack is well impressed with it. He walked in the day it arrived, went straight over to it and spent the night on the post. It is now his favourite place in the house!!
I recommend their products to any cat owner. You can see their site here: www.kitforcats.com MadCat

really cool! lucky ol' Jack
i wish i had more space to get my boys some more toys. but maybe its a good thing i dont have the space, cause with the around of toy mice, ping-pong balls, stands, scratch posts, kitty beds and other random things i'd have no place to walk |

oh yeah, i got a great new scratching post for my 3, its called 'A Brand New Couch'
my cats never ever took to a post, so while looking for other alternatives, i came across these things called purrfect paw, which is like clear acrylic that you stick to your couch (sorry not sure how to post a link, but the website is www.purrfectpaw.com), but they arent available in Australia, so before i order them in from the US, i was wondering if anyone had any feedback on this kind of thing? for the meantime, ill just keep chasing them with the spray bottle, even though i know this doesnt stop them at all...i guess it just makes me feel better, heeee... |

i've heard of them before and a friend of mine used something similar for her cats in SA. their very good, but havenÂ’t been able to find any in the UK to use.
my boys attack just about anything thatÂ’s high enough got them to stretch up and claw. i have this spray stuff that you spray on furniture etc and when they lick their paws after scratching it has an icky taste with is supposed to put them off scratching the item again. the only draw back is it cant be used on all furniture cause it can discolour some material. however, it does work! i did the only thing possible, cause the spray stuff discoloured a test patch on my couch, ... bought a BIG bed throw and put it over my couch and just take it off when i have visitors. i love 'em to bits but they do drive me crazy some times |

I got the 85cm Rigid platform for Jack. It really is rigid unlike the ones in most pet shops. When he jumps on it from floor level, it doesnt even wobble... a good purchase..
A good company to deal with, with prompt delivery MadCat
