Do cats "purr-fur"
One thing they go mad for more than all the expensive toys you buy them are the 'freezer bag ties", cut off a length about 3 inches (7.5cm) and wrap it into a loop and tie the ends around each other. It flies quite a long way and they love chasing it. It has made our two cats into 'decent' goalies as if they are in the mood the cat has jumped 3 or 4 foot in the air and caught it or deflected it to stop it going past her. Perhaps I should be an agent and see if any clubs are interested in the New Cat!! (Wasnt the original 'Cat' Peter Bonnetti??) Another thing they love is the fold-up laundry baskets you can buy in those £1 shops (surprisingly for a £1!!!) and it seems they cant see the netted mesh as they attacke anything placed on top or around it, and if you put the loop thing I was talking about above on the floor and put an upturned laundry basket over it it truly perplexes them!! However, if you were to purchase one I dont recommend you thinking it would then be a good idea to use for your laundry!!! |

I think that home made toys are the best....
cats love them, and you get the enjoyment of watching them play with something you made! I like rolling my own cigarettes. I use the large rizla papers and I cut a strip off the edge of 2 pieces of paper. I lay them over at rigth angles to form a cross and then twist the bottom where the papers overlay. It forms a sort of little helicopter. Throw it in the air and it flutters down. Jack loves jumping for them and chasing them around our front room, although they make a mess when he catches and shreds it! Also the plastic laundry baskets, he loves playing with anything in these... upside down with the cat inside, it also doubles as a holding area if they are doing your head in!!! MadCat
