My cat has just had four kittens safely underneath my bed. She gets outside a few times a day but the kittens are locked away as I have three other adult neutered males who are yowling outside the door to come and find out what is going on (one is a Bengal). Should I keep the kittens separate from them until they are ready to go to their new home, or is it safe to introduce the babies to these inquisitive boys at any stage?

You can introduce them.
Wait until the kittens are a week old or so, and have open eyes. Let one of your old cats in at a time and supervise them. Do not let them in on their own. Let them have a sniff etc. but not to lick or try to eat the new arrivals. It may take some time for the existing house cats to accept the new arrivals, but if you plan to let the kittens walk around your house, they must have all been introduced first. Good luck, I'm jealous... you have 2 of my favourite things... kittens AND a bengal!! MadCat |

You can introduce them at a month at least. A male will bite their heads off if under 1 month. Sometimes they will not but please don't take that chance. Trust me I have 16 cats! Catz . | |
