Hey! I have heard of a cat doing that before! And the people asked the ecacked questions! and the owner told them the same as you did!
Funny ain't it?
Now I think you should take away his (paw drinking) bowl and replace it (in the same place as the paw dirnking one) thenn c wot appens!

it must be an australian cat thing, cause my youngest boy, 'rodent' does this every morning from my husbands water glass beside the bed! its too cute, but 2 out of 3 times, the glass goes down and then theres water everywhere! ive been trying to get a good picture of him doing it, will post when i get one.
come to think of it though, i dont ever see him drink water from the cat bowl, but my other 2 dont have a problem..

yep, my paw drinker will occasionaly eat mince with his claws, actually both my boy cats will do that from time to time, my girl wont though..
