Induction (You get some when you become a member)
Registration, Promotion, Subscription, etc
Referral (Introducing a new member)
Paycheck
Activity in the forum
Birthday
Grant Reputation
Receive Reputation
Infractions deduct credits
New Thread - Creating quality threads is a great way to earn credits
Rate Thread
Posting - Regular posting is the easiest way to earn credits!
Own Thread Posting

At the moment they have two uses:
a) Spend in the Arcade
b) A status symbol

There is some limited tracking. You can see this by clicking where it says Check over on the left hand side of one of your posts.

We are hoping to add something like a shop where you can trade your credits for virtual items (bling for your self, gifts for other members etc...) Or maybe cool avatars....

Dont forget that you can also create your own competitions and give away credits as prizes!

Yes, use the Donate link next to the users Credit total in their profile

What is the difference between giving credits by clicking on Donate and then clicking on Award?

I know how to Donate you go to where their credit amount is, i.e. 'Credits: (1,234) [Donate]', but then there is also the Coin icon at the bottom (next to Report Post).

I just tried to credit Kaz’s pot of Credits using the Coin icon but it said I don’t have enough credits – so just went via the Donate route.

I think Award comes from a central pot

Oh dear .. it sounds like I broke something. What happens to the pot when it's empty then? Does it get topped up every day or do I so how top it up?
