Not sure if this will help but on anther forum (I'm a trator I know) they use a [img] attachment instead of your : . I've searched the internet and found 2 sites that will convert smilies into the [img] attachment to use. I've found lots of smilies for that forum. Maybe you could do something like that? I know nothing about IT so it might not be possible.
