My Advice:
- Set a budget for yourself and stick to it
- People seldom give feedback unless they are complaining
- Dont be afraid to say a potential ISP "Do you have any special offers on?" and "Is that your best price?"
- In my opinion 512kb is ok for basic web browsing, dont be sold 4mb unless you need it
- Ask friends which they use, are they good, bad .....
- Consider a package deal (phone + internet etc...)
We use a cable provider called Virgin Media. I have friends using Sky, BT, Wanadoo and Tiscali.
Personally I'd stay away from AOL
