Ubuntu is very good, but it does take a bit of getting used to

It runs really quick on older hardware when compared to Windows. Its easy to install and you can dual boot if you like (run windows or Ubuntu)

Tell you other half I agree its brilliant, but, its not for everyone. Some people just cant re learn a new OS and where everything is.
