Nutty, I used to have a VIC20, I laughed out loud when I read your post as I had completely forgotten about it. Did you have cartridge game Rat Race? Brilliant game!!
Then I had the Commodore 64, and my dad who was really into home computing proudly brought home his new purchase of a BBC B.
Then came the hours typing in code and getting frustrated with "expected : at line xx" errors... ah, they were the days
When I started my A level computer science having never done it before, and being faced with windows and a GUI I was stuffed and had a large learning curve to get to everyone elses level, but thats what I got for being the only girl in the class I guess! I actually had to change schools to find one that would teach me computers!! My old school said "It wasn't the profession for a lady and they wouldnt teach it"! (Bet they do now though!!!)
I spent most of my childhood playing Chuckie Egg whilst listening to loud music - pretty cool really
