In some parts of rural Africa an albino black person is ostrasized. They are considered to be cursed and looked upon with fear. They think the ancestors have punished them for some transgression and often the whole family is treated as outcasts. Due to the health problems associated with this condition they generally do not live long lives as they are hidden away from the rest of the community and not treated.

In urban areas these fears are becoming less as the black people are becoming more westernized. It will take a long time for for these fears to be washed away. It is difficult to get away from preconditioned ideas.

I hope this answers your question Gurkin.
