Your comment about being near a pub or takeaway confused me...
let me explain...
it sounds like you are at school. In the UK people of school age (up to 18) are not old enough to go to the pub.
Do you call further education (i.e. university) school, or in Australia are you old enough to drink whilst still at school?
Sorry if I sound nosey, Im just curious... and I suppose kinda nosey!
