It's not just the UK. Australian governments are the same. The courts also turn a blind eye to alcohol abuse and subsequent anti-social behaviour of high profile sportsmen. No conviction recorded this week for 3 footballers who had punched into a couple in a pub. Didn't want to spoil their 'good' reputations, so ordered they teach kids about the dangers of alcohol. Hmmmph! As if they'll do that! Makes a mockery of the courts. The other fellow wasn't so lucky. He retalliated so was fined thousands of dollars for his part because he was a normal bloke.
