Trouble is if you obtained your license before 1997, you don't have to undergo any formal training in how to tow. Anyone can hitch up a van or trailer and off they go. I believe the restrictions are tighter now, but still think you shouldn't be allowed to tow anything without doing further tests. I can legally drive a vehicle/trailer combination of up to 8250KG without having had any proper training!

IMHO that's why a lot of people out there annoy other road users by their bad towing practice.


BTW I nearly bought a caravan but opted for a trailer tent instead cos it doesn't block the light out my front window when it's on the drive!!
